Questions About Boarding

  • All reservations are made by the client through their account in the Gingr app. On the homepage, click on the photo of your dog, click “START BOOKING”, and then select “Boarding” where prompted.

  • We have a morning timeslot that is 7-8:30 am and an evening timeslot that is 4-5:30 pm. You can show up anytime within these timeslots. There is a $25 fee for drop off or pick up outside of these timeslots.

  • Dogs can be dropped off by anyone as long as they are aware and adhere to any pertinent policies. At pick up, dogs will not be handed over to anyone other than the owner if we haven’t received written permission by the owner ahead of time. We will hold the dog until that written permission is received. It is the owner’s responsibility to provide this and Cervantes Dog Training is not responsible for any inconvenience or additional charges due to an owner’s negligence.

  • Please turn left and pull in directly in front of the building. Staff will greet you at your car to receive your dog.

  • Please stay in your car until staff greets you.

  • We accept cash, check, and credit card payments. If you pay with cash or check, you can avoid the 3% credit card processing fee. Payment in full is due at pick up.

  • Your dog will need more than enough food for the length of their stay (in case your travel plans are extended for any reason) and a bed or blanket. Please do not pack food/water bowls, maze bowls, jackets, toys, or bones. If your dog has been trained using a prong collar or e-collar, please plan to drop your dog off wearing their tools. Check the e-collar and remote to make sure they are charged and on. We’ll use these tools to help your dog enter the facility safely and calmly. Then, we will take your tools off, put them in a labeled plastic container with a lid, and use our tools for the remainder of the time. This is to make sure your tools are returned to you at the end of your dog’s stay.

  • There are five play yard outs per day that are one hour each. In-between and overnight, your dog will be crated for rest and decompression. A benefit of regular crate usage is that our staff will handle your dog for all necessary activities throughout the day. Feeding them, moving them out to the play yard and back, working in the same room while they rest. Your dog will get a lot of individual attention during their day. Another benefit of the crate is that your dog will never be alone. All dogs board in the same room together. Your dog will have the comfort that other dogs provide at all times. We dog test every dog that comes in every time they come in. If dogs pass dog testing, they are added to large group socials. If dogs show any concerning behaviors that would indicate anxiety, overwhelm, reactivity, or aggression, they will have their own yard to play in with the other dogs in sight. Or, they will be added to small social groups that include the Cervantes pack only.

  • Yes! All dogs sleep in a crate overnight and they are crated between play yard outs during the day as well.

  • Crates are great! 8 of those hours are overnight. In between play yard breaks they are crated for 2 to 2.5 hours at a time at most. In dog training, to aid in decompression and behavior modification to relieve any stress or anxiety, this is actually a recommended best practice, which is why we incorporate it into our program. We have found it to be incredibly effective as well. We do not have stressed out dogs here, in addition, we do not lose dogs here, or have dog bites or dog fights here. If you want the benefits that we offer, then you need to understand and accept what it takes to make that possible. The crate is one of the best parts of what we do and how we do it. If you oppose regular crate usage or duration crate usage then we won't be a good fit for you at all. Whatever you choose, we respect your decision.

  • We don't provide individual owner updates. However, we would certainly contact you if there were any questions or concerns during your dog’s stay. If you would like to be able to check in, we recommend that you join our Live Q+A on Tuesdays at 7 pm. Information about the Q+A can be found on the Resources page.

  • Yes, we can! It’s an additional fee of $5 per day. We will create a medication chart for them and have our staff sign off that this important task has been completed on schedule. We will also include it on your invoice for your records. Please note that this fee covers up to two types of medications and a max of two administrations per day. Additional medications and administrations will be subject to an additional fee of $5 per day for a total of $10 per day.

  • While this is something we really want to offer, unfortunately we do not have a groomer available on site at this time.

  • Yes, absolutely! We have a fridge and freezer for the dogs to store their food in and we’d be happy to prepare their food however you’d like.

  • We will feed our house food with an added charge of $5 per day.

  • We love every dog in our care. Their comfort, self esteem, and overall happiness means the world to us. We provide affection for each dog with consideration of their individual opinion, temperament, and current mental state. If a dog seeks out affection, we pour it on. If a dog would prefer space, we give them space. Either way, we are grateful for their company and the privilege we have to know them.
